Meet Loretta
Loretta is an accredited leadership coach and nonprofit consultant based in San Diego. With a decade of experience, she has secured over $5.1 million in grants and specializes in building sustainable grants programs for BIPOC-led organizations. She holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego and is certified in leadership and executive coaching.
Her expertise lies in leadership development, philanthropic advocacy, and strategic planning. At KC Nonprofits, Loretta focuses on grants, prospect research, and strategic planning, helping to secure funding and guide organizational direction. She brings a mindful, people-centered approach to her coaching, consulting, and facilitation.
Loretta got her start in nonprofits in 2012–she had just started her career as a yoga teacher and pursued an internship with a New Jersey-based nonprofit that provides yoga and meditation to historically underserved communities. The internship quickly evolved into a full-time position, and after eight years with the organization, Loretta became curious about what else she could learn about nonprofit management.
After relocating to San Diego in 2017, Loretta pursued her Master’s in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego. After graduating top of her class in 2020 and acquiring a leadership and executive coaching certification along the way, Loretta found her nonprofit interests to land in the following categories: writing and storytelling, trust-based philanthropy, leadership development, and changing organizational cultures to meet the well-being of the nonprofit workforce.
At KC Nonprofits, she supports grants, prospect research, and strategic planning.
